The 5-6AM feeding is my favorite time of day. After Ada’s done, she falls asleep on my shoulder as I try to burp her and then we take a nap together, with her on my chest. Sometimes I worry that she’ll hurt herself. She likes to lift her head up and then let it drop, and she usually hit my collar bone when she does that. There’s nothing like having a baby curled up against you.
Sometimes she’ll fight sleep and look at me from the corner of her head or look upwards to make sure I’m still around. The other day, I left her on the changing table with Phil while I went to wash my hands and phil started chuckling so I came back and he told me that her eyes followed me out of the room.
My baby recognizes me!
